About the Auction

The Section G16 auction raises money to support the year-round operations of the section and directly benefits our youth Arrowmen. Auction funds provide support to section officers, training and resources for our member lodges, financial support through scholarships, communciation and technical infrastructure, and much more. The section also uses funds to subsidize the cost of conclave to help keep the event as affordable as possible for all Arrowmen.

How the Auction Works

Our auction works similarly to other auctions, but there are a few important things you need to know.

Silent Auction

  1. Use your bidder number, not your name. Your bidder number is located on your conclave name badge. This internal number is used to sort and record winnings.

  2. Print legibly. Make sure both your bidder number and your bids are able to be read. If the auction staff can't read your writing, the item will go to the next legible bid. Please use a pen as pencil is hard to read.
  3. Pay attention to the starting bid. Each item in the silent auction has a bidder sheet attached to it that lists the starting bid for the item. Make sure your bids are at least the minimum amount.
  4. We don't do change. All bids must be at least a $1.00 increase. There are no $1.25 or $2.05 bids here.
  5. We have a youth-only table. To allow youth Arrowmen a better opportunity to participate in the auction, we have some tables set aside just for youth bidders. Adults (21+) should not bid on items on these tables. Youth are allowed to bid on any item on any of the tables.
  6. We rotate items. Items will be changed throughout the afternoon. Make sure to come back frequently to bid on new items.
  7. Please don't take our pens. We have several pens on the tables for you to use in case you forgot yours. Please be courteous and put them back on the table when you are done.
  8. Keep the line moving. We want you to stop and write your bids, but then please either step back out of the traffic or move with it to keep the line around the tables moving.

Oral Auction

The oral auction works just like any other oral auction. If you'd like to bid, just raise your hand, shout, yell, whatever you need to do to get the auctioneer's attention.

Don't raise your hand unless you are bidding or you may end up taking home something you don't want (or can't afford).

Please keep side conversations to a minimum so the auction staff can hear bids.

Remember to BID HIGH & BID OFTEN!

Checkout Procedures

Once a table is closed, won items are sorted into bags for each bidder.

To checkout, just give your bidder number to the cashier and they will collect and verify your items and collect paymnet. We accept credit/debit cards, cash, and checks. Please make all checks payable to "Pacific Crest Council."

NOTE: Auction item pick-up is open from 11:00 PM - 12:00 AM on Saturday night (earlier if staffing allows) and throughout Sunday morning. We ask that you pick up your itmes during these hours to allow our auction staff time to sort and record all items won. If you need to leave conclave early, we can help you collect and pay for your items early.
